July 6, 1925 - August 12, 2007 Merv Griffin  born Mervyn Edward Griffin Jr. Merv started in radio at KFRC San Francisco. He was a singer, entertainer, talk show host, impresario, creator of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and former owner of WENE and WMRV in Endicott NY, WMID & WGRF Atlantic City NJ, WBAX Wilkes Barre, WPOP Hartford and WIOF aka "W104-FM" Waterbury CT. Griffin and Julann Elizabeth Wright were married in 1958, and a son, Anthony, was born the following year. The couple divorced in 1973 because of ``irreconcilable differences. Julann received the radio stations as part of the divorce settlement. FYI - Jeopardys' "think music" is entitled "Time for Tony", was composed by Merv Griffin and named for Griffin's son.
